Aktisil WW for Water-based Clear Wood Varnishes (15/02/2012)

Aktisil WW is a new product in the range of surface treated Siliceous Earth. Hoffmann Mineral has recently developed this functional filler especially for matting used in pure form as well as in combination with matting agents in water-based clear wood varnishes. Optimum effects will be obtained with acrylic binders, which react highly sensitive to matting agents with a markedly reduced water and stain resistance. By contrast Aktisil WW enables mat wood varnishes with very good water and stain resistance even after drying period.

In addition Aktisil WW largely maintains transparency with good appearenace of wood grain on dark woods and offers considerable benefits in handling like easy metering and incorporation without noticeable dust and foam formation.

New Rectangular Big Bags (09/01/2012)

Supplying our products Sillitin, Aktisil, Sillikolloid and the new calcined variation Silfit and Aktifit in big bags has proved itself since many years. As a new challenge, we want to improve the delivery quality again and therefore we will continuously convert to rectangular big bags (standard and type C, all sizes). The advantages of this new size are the better stability, which leads to an ameliorated handling and optimized securing of loads. To protect the products from humidity, we will continue to fil wrap the big bags and to put a plastic hood on the top.
