Your new contact person at Hoffmann Mineral (07/12/2009)
We are very pleased to welcome our new colleague, Ms. Nicole Knoer, who started on December 1st, 2009 to be the responsible Area Sales Manager for Asia as successor of Mr. Christian Plein. We would like to introduce her by a brief Curriculum Vitae:
Ms. Knoer owes a master degree in material science and is just about to finish her doctoral degree in mechanical engineering. During her time at university and her five years stay as a research associate at the Institute of Composite Materials GmbH in Kaiserslautern (Germany) she also worked as trainee or research associate at Bridgestone/Firestone Research, LLC. (USA) and at the National Center for Nanoscience and Technology in Beijing (China), respectively.
At her time at the Institute of Composite Materials GmbH she was responsible for several research projects in the field of material science financed through governmental founds and industry. Main topic s of her work had been nanoparticles reinforced thermoplastics with enhanced mechanical properties gained by economically designed extrusion processing.
We are very happy to have her in our sales team and we are looking forward to introduce Ms. Nicole Knoer during a future event.
Change in legal form (22/09/2009)
We recently made a change in legal form. Our company is now trading under the name of HOFFMANN MINERAL GmbH (Private Limited Company), and is incorporated as such into the Companies Registry. This change was done because the legal form Private Limited Company is now the internationally recognised form, and principally because it enjoys significant fiscal advantages. How does this affect you?
- For you this procedure is a trivial matter, as it is only a change in legal form. Contractual and buiness transactions remain unaffected and do not require renewal.
- The new VAT-No. for our company is DE266440698. This is to come into use from today.
Should you have any enquiries your familiar contact person, or our administrative accounting department, are naturally at your disposal.
Aktisil Q in silicone rubber (20/07/2009)
AKTISIL Q is a new product in the range of surface treated Siliceous Earth of Hoffmann Mineral. The company located in Neuburg, Germany has recently developed this functional filler especially for the application in HCR silicon rubber. AKTISIL Q can be used as functional filler either on its own or in combination with other non-reinforcing or reinforcing fillers. The best effect is achieved in radical cured systems (peroxide, high energy radiation).
AKTISIL Q should be used where high tensile strength and moduli along with very low tensile and compression set are of importance as well as excellent processing properties and high oil resistance. These effects offer an ideal combination in particular for moulded articles with high requirements as to tensile and compression set. Furthermore blooming of cross linker or reaction products of bis-(2.4-dichlorbenzoyl)-peroxide can be avoided.
Even more, the extrusion of silicone rubber profiles and hoses containing AKTISIL Q will result in products with excellent surface quality, reduced stickiness, very smooth edges of profiles and high collapse resistance, compared to the use of surface treated quartz flour.

HOFFMANN MINERAL wins Award for the Best Marketing Campaign (08/07/2008)

| The new marketing campaign featuring the microstructure of the Neuburg Siliceous Earth in association with the key applications is proving to be a big success for HOFFMANN MINERAL. Against stiff competition from campanies like Wacker and Cytec, HOFFMANN MINERAL was presented with "The Best Marketing Campaign of the Year" award at the Asia Pacific Coating Show 2008 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. This prestigious award was presented to the Marketing Team of HOFFMANN MINERAL, Ursula Golling and Dr. Alexander Risch on June 25, 2008 (photograph).
Two years ago, HOFFMANN MINERAL won the Environmental Award of the coating show and is very proud to have received this latest award. |
Extended Shelf Life for Aktisil standard products (24/04/2008)
After elaborate laboratory and pilot plant trials we can extend the shelf life guaranty for our products

at least to two years.
In our trials we proved the efficiency of Aktisil in selected applications. By that the shelf life of the surface coated Neuburg Siliceous Earth is evidentially higher than those of the used coupling agents and coatings.
